  今天让我们来看一下gist-purpose题型:

  1)典型的提问方式:

  why does the student go to see the professor?

  Why does the professor ask to see the student?

  Why does the professor explain X?

  出现的位置:多见于conversation的第一道题。

  2)引导目的题的信号句子:

  Student:I was wondering/thinking/considering/hoping

  help(I really hope you can help me)

  Be suppose to…

  I am having a hard time (in) doing

  Professor: Can I help you?

  What’ matter with you?

  What can I do for you?

  我们下面来看一个例子:TPO7C2

  1. Why does the student come to the library?

  A: To learn about the library's resources

  B: To ask about interlibrary loans

  C: To attend the new student orientation

  D: To start work on a research project

  答案是:A

  student:I couldn’t come to the student orientation and I’m wondering if you can give me a few quick pointers about the library. a few quick pointers about the library其实是the library's resources的同义转换。而B选项interlibrary loans是比较细节的内容。C选项 错在了attend,对话中说的是学生没参加新生指南活动。D选项是完全么有提到。
