范文
Today, I am going to talk about a great and well-known decision made by Steve Jobs, the founder of a legendary tech company, Apple. Jobs dropped out of college at the age of 17 and later started his exploration into the field of high technology along with one good friend of his. According to Jobs, dropping out of college was one of the boldest and best decisions he had ever made in his entire life, and I couldn’t agree more. As for why he dropped out of college, Jobs explained that, in addition to the cruel fact that his family couldn’t afford his tuition fees, dropping out of college would also mean that there was going to be a lot more time for him to learn about what he truly took interest in, which is, as we all know, computer science. He then devoted much of his time into learning about the theories of computation and the design of computational systems, which all turned out to be of great use later in his life. With a strong desire to make technology better connected to people’s daily life, Jobs then launched Apple with one of his friends back in college. Till now, Apple has grown to be one of most successful computer manufacturers in the world. Other products produced by Apple like iPhone, iPod and iPad also gained great popularity among people from all over the world. Through Apple’s great success, Jobs has established himself as a leading pioneer in today’s technology business.
Speaking of the reason why I thought it was a good decision, I guess it’s mainly because what Jobs did inspired me on how to stick to what one truly loves. If it were not for his quitting from college, Jobs might have missed a golden period when personal computers began to be developed at a mass scale, and other competitors might have overtaken him as the leading figure in this field. I believe it is his passion for this business that finally leads him to come to this decision. Through this, Jobs showed me the importance of never letting go of what one truly loves, and this is why I hold it to be a great decision.
