  范文

Well I would actually like to start by saying that I try to be polite in all kinds of situations, because that’s basically how I was brought up. But, if I were to choose a particular occasion when I had to be polite, then I guess I’ll be talking about this very time when I went to a friend’s house to attend his birthday party.

And as for when it was, well I suppose it must have been about three or four months ago, and basically what happened at that time, was that a friend of mine invited me, along with some other friends of his, to his house for dinner to celebrate his birthday. And the moment we got there, we were warmly welcomed by his parents, who then offered us some great drinks and had us wait in the living room for a short time while they prepared dinner. Anyway, it was worth the wait, because the dinner turned out to be just fantastic. I was absolutely stuffed in the end.

Well, in a situation like that, good waiting and table manners are without doubt of great importance, both of which I believe, were displayed properly through my behavior at my friend’s house. While waiting for the dinner to come up, instead of running around in the house pointing at stuff, I had a nice chat with my friend and wished him happy birthday. Later at dinner, despite its being extremely delicious, I managed not to devour my favorite dish and shared it with others.

So, speaking of why I had to be polite, well, I think it goes without saying that whenever you go visit someone else’s house, you should always show your politeness to the hosts. You know, it’s just common sense. I mean, if someone’s kind enough to invite you over to their home and treat you with good food and drinks, the least thing you can do is try to be polite and well-mannered, and if you’re not, then chances are that you won’t get invited back.

So yeah, I guess that’s pretty much all there is to say, thanks for listening.
