  范文

Well I should first say that due to my parents’ hospitality, we often have visitors at our home. And on special occasions like a birthday party or so, even a house big as ours can get really crowded.

One such occasion I remember was my older sister’s wedding ceremony 2 years ago. The ceremony was arranged in our own house and we had been tremendously busy for it. On that day, over 200 people came, and among them was one special guest named John Kors, father of the bridegroom’s senior brother and also a well-known figure in town. Mr. Kors actually, is a famous writer and the minute he arrived at the scene, many of us recognized him immediately.

I greeted Mr. Kors well and led him to sit on a comfortable couch. Since I was at the same time, busy with a lot of other stuff, I only got to come to Mr. Kors time to time to see if he needed anything. Later, I asked him what type of food he would prefer to have and led him to the dining place. I had a short and delightful conversation with him down there, and told him that I have read some of his books and really liked those stories. He smiled back at me gently, asking me how I thought of his newly published book, ‘Shadows and Smiles’. I knew immediately that he was trying to figure out if I had really appreciated his works or was I just telling him so to please him. So, I told him a couple of things I like and dislike about his new book, and found him smiling. In the evening, right before Mr. Kors’s departure, I brought a book written by him and asked him if he would be kind enough to sign me an autograph. He willingly signed it on the cover page and wrote me a few complementary words.

My feelings on Mr. Kors’s visit to our house was in a word, exciting. I guess for most people, meeting a famous person and having a conversation with him/her is indeed something delightful. I wish I had more time to spend with him so that I could be able to know more about this person.
