雅思OGtest7口语part3话题与邻居有关,这个话题与我们生活息息相关,所以对于考生来说难度也不是很大。但是部分考生没有答题思路和实用句型,下面
PART 3
Helping neighbours
1.(describe) practical things people can do to help their neighbours
There are quite a lot of things people can do for their neighbours. For example, they can help their neighbours pick up letters or packages when their neighbours are out of town. What is more, if their neighbours are on business trips or short journeys, people can also help them leave messages to possible guests and take care of their pets. Those are all the possible things people can do for their neighbours.
2.(explain) why neighbours should help each other
Neighbours may be the people who we usually meet in our daily life apart from our family members, friends and colleagues. When troubles arise, neighbours may provide more prompt help than our friends, since they live in the same community and may better understand the situations we are in. We should help each other because it would be difficult not to and without mutual assistance we could hardly call ourselves a community.

3.(consider) whether people in small towns help each other more than people in cities
People in small towns usually help each other more than people in cities. On the one hand, people living in cities usually spend more time on their study and work, leaving less time and energy to take care of their own life, not to mention the problems of their neighbours. On the other hand, it is undeniable that people have closer relationship in small towns since they make contact more frequently than people in cities and they are more familiar with each other. Hence trust is easier to build among them.
Jobs that involve helping people
4.(identify) jobs that focus on helping other people
Volunteers are the ones that jump into my mind first. And the jobs of volunteers are never confined within one specific area. We can find them in almost everywhere of the world, providing help to people who are in need, especially when disasters strike.
5.(outline) the qualities that people need to do jobs that involve helping others
People should have great patience when they decide to engage in jobs that involve helping others. The nature of such jobs determines that people have to communicate with others of different social backgrounds or even cultures. If people lack patience, their anger may be triggered during the process. What is more, people engaging in those jobs also need to equip themselves with specialized knowledge and expertise, thus providing professional service with a positive attitude.
6.(comment on) whether salaries for jobs that involve helping people are generally too low
I think they are, yes and I think it is because people simply understand the meaning of a volunteer as a person who provides help and does not ask for a reward. The contributions of volunteers are invaluable, but not valueless. Just because they have done much more for not only those who are suffering, but also the wider world, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be more valued by society, so yes I think the salaries of those in positions which involve helping others are often too low.
Attitudes towards helping other people
7.(account for) some people not wanting to help other people
I think it is a little prejudiced to mark the ones who do not want to help others as selfish people. Some of them are indeed quite selfish and just care about themselves. But some of them are just too timid to communicate with strangers. What is more, with the increase of crimes like fraud, it is also more difficult for people to trust each other nowadays. What is more, if people are even struggling with their own life, how can they spare more efforts to help others out?
8.(agree/disagree) governments have a responsibility to help people
Governments definitely have responsibilities to help people not only in their own country, but even in foreign countries. One of the fundamental functions of the government is to provide services for its citizens to ensure the general well-being, therefore each citizen deserves help from their own government. What is more, through providing assistance for suffering people all over the world, governments will establish a better international image and relationship, thus ensuring the smoother cooperation among different countries.
9.(consider) whether some people deserve help more than others
As for me, the word “deserve” is not proper, since all people are created equal and no one is more privileged than others. It is a moral obligation and duty to provide help to people who are in need, but not a responsibility. As for the government, it should provide unbiased help to both suffering people and common citizens. Privileged assistance may even give rise to dissatisfaction and arguments among the public.
