I like the Dragon Boat Festival in China, which is an old tradition that last for thousands of years throughout Chinese history. Here are some featured activities to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival. For example, dragon-boat racing and eating Zongzi. When I was very young, I was told that the tradition is in memory of the famous ancient patriotic poet Qu Yuan who lived in Chu Dynasty. It is said that Qu Yuan drowned himself in a river to prove his innocence and his loyalty to his country. Later people threw Zongzi into the river to keep the fish from eating his corpse. The story actually has many versions, however. But it is indeed passed down from generation to generation, mainly by your teachers or your parents. Besides, dragon-boat racing is also very interesting and exciting. How grand the boat racing is when you see so many dragon-shaped boats are flying on the river!
I like the old tradition of Dragon Boat Festival because our country thinks more highly of our traditional festivals and traditions. On Dragon Boat Festival, we could have a day off! Exciting, right? Well, on the other hand, Dragon Boat Festival marks the real start of burning summer. I like summer best since I can see so many beautiful girls wearing charming dresses on the street. A special sightseeing only in summer, right? Moreover, I can have my favorite watermelon and everything seems vivifying without any efforts. Therefore, I think the tradition of Dragon Boat Festival is very interesting.
