The Cove
I’d like to talk about a foreign movie,The Cove is a 2009 documentary film that questions dolphin hunting practices in Japan. It was awarded the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2010. The film is a call to action to halt mass dolphin kills, change Japanese fishing practices, and to inform and educate the public about the risks.
By the time I have finished this heartbreaking and thought-provoking documentary, I was just out of temper .I wondered how could people be such cold blooded slaughter to harm cute and innocent dolphins. I just couldn’t figure out why we human beings are so foolish to do the things which hurt the both sides.
maybe because we are short sighted creatures that merely concentrate on the short-term advantages, which will immediately satisfy our greed and maybe because we'er so ignorant and fear nothing on this planet as long as we get what we want.
Honestly speaking, the bloody fact happened in Taiji is a case in point, motivated by the considerable profit of whaling industry, the government secretly kill dolphins and sell these whale-liked dolphin meats to the ignorant civil citizens, The government takes no notice of the health of the nation in the long run and disrupts the balance of the ecosystem which is essential to the future generation, instead, they focus on the present interests. This sound ridiculous, but it did happen, and it is still happening.
