A math class
When speaking to math, one may frown because it is difficult to learn it well and there are numerous formulas to memorize and problems to calculate. But I still have a fresh memory of math classes in my childhood.
My math teacher was an old beautiful lady. Serious as she was, she had her own teaching style. I really enjoyed her way of teaching. Other teachers may start their classes with examples and problems, but she was so different. In one class, she asked how many mathematicians we knew and who they were. We began to search our mind and found few. Then she introduced some to us and even the stories and histories about them and their works, such as Galileo, Gauss and Zu Chongzhi. From her, we realized that the process to prove a formula or work out a problem could be as long as one’s life or hundreds of years. Though there were no Nobel Prize for math, those who devoted their life in math should be respected and admired. According to a survey, compared with westerners, we Chinese could do better in math. So this was really an inspiration for us to learn math well. She was a good teacher for she understood we little pupils loved stories and knew how to inspire us to learn math.
I have to say, she was great. (to be transfered )
