第二道独立口语任务题主要分成两种情况，第一是考查personal preference，考生会在电脑屏幕上看到两种有可能发生的行为、情景或观点。题目要求考生谈论偏爱(prefer)哪一种行为或情景。第二是给出一个陈述句(statement)，考生需要赞同还是不赞同某观点，并详细解释原因。
一、Question 2是Question 1的第二季
说Question 2是Question 1的续篇，是因为绝大多数的Question 2 在构建论述部分时，都可以巧妙转化，并借用Question 1的people、events、objects、places 四大类题目的万能理由。据作者统计，超过半数的Question 2的题目都可以借用Question 1的万能理由，这一类题目我们称其为典型题目。该类典型Question 2的解题步骤分如下三步：
Step 1: 巧转Question 2→Question 1。
Step 2: 选万能理由(八门神器、六脉神剑、五事运动、四大萌物)。
Step 3: 结合Question 2“6句绝杀法”进行解答。
