As I have been keeping a close eye to our country’senvironmental protection progress, I surely will volunteer to plant more treesin the city. All Chinese people know that in recent years, the northern part ofChina is suffering a lot from the sandstorm almost every spring. Sandstorm isformed because of the lack of trees which play an important role in preventingsoil from erosion. Apart from sandstorm, a kind of poisonous smog has alsoappeared in northern cities in every winter. I was told that it is because ofthe overwhelming air pollution. If more and more trees are to be planted in thecity, with their strong root system and photosynthesis, I believe theseenvironmental problems would be lessened to some degree.

小孩子从小参加运动的话长大后变得更aggressive，是否同意?
Do you agree or disagree that children who do sports at a youngage will be more aggressive in the future.
Sample answer
Personally, I disagree with this statement. On the contrary, I reckon that children who do sports will have a better chance of learning theart of cooperation. There are a lot of sports that need people to work togetherand spare no effort to achieve the same goal. Like basketball, succor,volleyball, etc. I myself was a member of our school’s volleyball team back inmiddle school. Because both my parents are very good at volleyball, they taughtme how to play it when I was little. Together with the team, I won games, and Ilost games. In this process I gradually learned that the true spirit of sportsis not about victory, but about the willingness to work with others and havinga broader mind towards the world.

原因1：budget的问题可以让local sports/clothing shop做广告，学生是很大的潜在消费群体
原因2：校报可以放在学生多的地方，餐厅、学生中心、图书馆等等

标题：Freeloader
定义：工作场所和教室中都有可能发生的，有的人不做贡献，让其他每个成员负责特定的一部分
听力
例子：教授举例在一个教室里给学生们布置了讨论书籍的任务并做相关提问，教授发现只有个别学生发言很多，于是就把每个问题拆分为每个人的工作任务，需要他们都发言。

问题：男孩本来是很会做蛋糕的，要去参加picnic party，用了一个比较健康的recipe，但是做出来没有之前好吃
解决方案1：重新按照原来的方式做蛋糕
优点1：可以保证蛋糕的口味
缺点1：需要晚点去，错过了这个party的大部分
解决方案2：直接带着现在的蛋糕去
优点2：可以参加整场party，有些人也会喜欢更健康的蛋糕
缺点2：味道可能不太好，让其他人失望

话题：教授讲了两种动物争夺食物的strategy
要点1：chemical的方式
例子1：有一种蚂蚁在遇到不能带走的大块食物时，就释放一种化学物质，让其他蚂蚁不会去触碰
要点2：physical的方式
例子2：另外一种蚂蚁发现附近有其他蚂蚁和它竞争食物时，就用石头堵住竞争者的巢穴，让它们出不来
