Nowadays, with the development of the technology, mobile phone become an important thing in our daily life. We can see people use their phones in any places. But I think it is impolite to make calls or send text messages on a dinner table. The reasons are as follows.
First, when people have dinner together, they can talk with each other, and if you make calls or send text messages it will disturb their talking, which will not respect others.
In addition to this, making calls breach the table manners. We should have the good manners while we having dinner, or we can give bad impression to others. It is harmful for us to make friends.
So we must keep good manners on the dinner table, you had better not make calls or send text messages on a dinner table.

From my perspective, I totally agree with the statement that people are never too late to receive university education to get a degree. There are two reasons for supporting my opinion. Firstly, from university we can learn a lot. Besides the knowledge from the textbooks, we also learn skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills，which is definitely of great importance in our later life.
What's more, we can meet new people who are important human resources for us to improve our career. We can cooperate with each other so to succeed in the future. So, all in all, I agree with this statement. Receiving high education can expand our horizon and accumulate more useful resources in our life. There's an old adage that says, there is no end to learning.
【发展题】
发展题往往指的是国家发展和社会发展，还会涉及到个人发展。譬如交通拥堵问题的改善、国家的发展变化等等。故而此类话题更重一种整体的答题策略，例如从过去和现在或者从改变前和改变后等不同角度来回答问题。

Do you think it is important to learn the history of the city where we live in?
解析：
学习历史非常重要：1、历史让人了解城市的变迁，对城市的依附心理更强;2、学习历史帮助保护城市的古建筑和文化;3、历史对人的警示作用，勿遗忘过去。
学习历史并不重要：较难拓展，能自圆其说即可。参考1、有些新兴城市还没有历史，应该立足于城市规划和经济建设;2、过去无法改变，但可以放眼未来。
Well, I think the situation depends. It always helps if we know more about the city where we live in, like its culture, tradition or history, so we can have more emotional attachment to it, and introducing it to our friends especially from another country will make us proud, but in today’s fast paced society, the city where we currently live in is not necessarily our hometown or the place we want to settle down for a long time, like numerous Chinese college students are cluttering in BJ, the capital of China, but a lot of them may only want to stay here for 4 years for bachelor degree, and then they may want to go abroad to study in the US for their master, and choose to live in Europe or some nice city in the States, so if we are too busy in getting things done at hand to know much about the city where we are now, it doesn't hurt anyone and is totally acceptable.

你对生活的态度即生活对你的态度。此类话题重点是讨论你对生活中某种具体内容的喜好，因此就某件事情的细致回答，是这类话题的重点。

Large grocery department store or small special store, which one do you prefer

I prefer large grocery department stores. First, it can provide us with various kinds of products. Although small special stores can offer more specified service, we often need our multiple demands to be satisfied at one time. Also, large grocery department stores are usually built in a busy place, which is convenient for many people living in an area. People are able to find most of the daily necessities in one grocery department store without spending much time on traffic. Even if they need special products, they can usually find them there now, for market demands have pushed the large grocery department stores to improve their service. Second, under the present pressure from economic depression, large grocery department stores could offer more job opportunities for many households. Through promoting employment, they can both lighten the burden on many families and stimulate the economy.
