I disagree that young people have nothing to teach those who are older because young people possess learning particular to

youth. Firstly, most young people are naturally curious and are not already tired of what they have seen. Secondly, these fresh

eyes help them discover new ways of seeing old ideas or of inventing entirely new ones. As a result of this perspective, young

people have been credited with many scientific and technological discoveries. In fact, it is the older generation who is

following the lead of many young people, especially in technology. Young people observe and interpret the world they

inherited from older people and are not afraid of change. For these reasons I feel that young people have much to teach older

  people.

Given the technological advances in the military, I have to disagree with those who think women are not good candidates for

service. Traditional strength is not needed for newer lightweight equipment and non-battle situations. Women can bring their

keen intelligence to help meet today’s military needs. Some of this new work calls for sophisticated computer skills. Women

are known to multi task and interpret well. Also known are women’s fine motor skill and reflexes that suit high tech positions.

Meanwhile military strategists welcome the different approaches to strategic thinking that women bring as a result of the way

they process information. In conclusion, women train hard to be both mentally and physically prepared for duty. There are just

some of the reasons women are good candidates for military service.

  Closing statement:

  - However, given the competition for jobs, I would ask my aunt to help me land a job at her company.

I would definitely enlist the help of my aunt in finding a job in the company where she works. The job market is tight these

days and I think that an applicant should use every advantage. It might influence the hiring manager if my aunt can put in a

good word for me. The manager might fell more confident in hiring someone who is already familiar with the company and

therefore I might be more likely to be accepted by the staff. On the other hand, it is risky to count on my aunt’s reputation or

her ability to influence decisions. The disadvantage of having an inside contact is that I will always wonder if I could have

been hired on my own merit. And, while on the job it might make it awkward for my boss to correct me if it might make both

my aunt and me feel bad. However, given the competition for jobs, I would ask my aunt to help me land a job at her company.

  Choice B: Virtual travel

  - While reading about a country, I will never run out of money or have to worry about terrorism.

  - There are maps, dictionaries and videos to refer to.

  Closing statement

  - For me, taking a trip somewhere always beats virtual travel.

I prefer real travel to a country over virtual travel from the comfort of my home. I do, however, see advantages for both

modes of “travel”. Real life travel hold a great excitement at all stages. Planning on paper is fun, but nothing can take the

place of really landing in a foreign airport and feeling the blast of air from a new climate on your face. Of course, the traveler

reading their way into a country will never run of money partway through a trip. Nor do they have to worry about robbery or

terrorism. While a real life traveler experience the excitement of buying food and getting directions, sometimes in a foreign

language, the home-based traveler has all the maps, dictionaries and videos to refer to. Naturally, the home traveler can stop

anytime. However, the virtual traveler can’t bring home the souvenirs of a trip such as music, food and new friends he

discovers on a trip. For me, taking a trip somewhere always beats virtual travel.
