A type of social event celebrated in my culture is the flag-raising ceremony on National Day.
Oceans of ( 表示“ 许多”)people from all across the country come to Beijing the day before.
They are very excited to see the ceremony with their own eyes instead of on TV. Some even have been planting this dream in their mind for years.
They arrive around 6:00 early in the morning, waiting for the special moment. I guess they are all overwhelmed ( 震撼的) and thrilled ( 激动)by the wonderful scene at the time.
On the other hand, the view of the honor guard parade (国旗班队伍) is fantastic, the guards all wearing the green military uniform and marching to Tian’anmen Square with a high spirit.
Each birthday celebration of the great country always begins with such a solemn ( 庄严的) flag-raising ceremony, which strengthens the unity and motivation of its people. (增强整个民族的凝聚力和推动力)

Well, I think the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games was the most impressive event. It began officially on 8th August 2008 at 8pm in the Bird's Nest Coliseum, the largest steel structure in the world.
Things got off to a bang with a fabulous firework display, followed by a total of 2,008 energetic FOU drummers beating a countdown, which made the ceremony even more impressive.
After that, sequences of performances took a crowd of 90,000 eager spectators on the spot and billions of audiences in front of the TV through 5,000 years of Chinese history and culture.
Then came the marvelous athlete parade. But the most important time was the ignition ritual. The Chinese gymnastics prince Li Ning, was lifted space-walking in the sky and lighted the Olympic Torch, which is the part I especially enjoyed.
In one word, the show really outdid all of its predecessors in many aspects and was the greatest event ever in my culture.

Describe an enjoyable event in your childhood.(06. 9. 23+06.12.1 真题)
Sample answer 1
An enjoyable event that took place in my childhood was learning to ride a bicycle.
I remember my father running beside me, holding the saddle( 车座) as I struggled to balance on two wheels. Suddenly his hands were no longer there.
I was alone, gripping the handlebars ( 手把) with all my strength as the bicycle wobbled ( 摇摆) dangerously down the street.
I remember jumping off excitedly and trying again and finally I succeeded. And I remember the look in my father’s eyes—
a mixture of pride and anxiety as he worried about my future safety. Many years have passed but my love for the bicycle remains as strong as ever.
There are many good reasons to ride a bicycle, but for me, the main reason for riding a bicycle is the pleasure it gives, a pleasure forever associated in my mind with the joys of childhood.
