Which of the following statements do your agree with? Please give specific reasons for your opinion. Some believe that TV programs have a positive influence on modern society. Others, however, think that the influence of TV programs is negative.

1) broaden people's horizons. People watch what is happening all over the world with their own eyes instead of actually going there. People have much more knowledge of the latest news around the globe.
2) more entertainment. Television provides us with various forms of entertainment, which helps release the stress and pressure that people are undergoing in the modern society.
(2) negative
1) a waste of time. Some people sit in front of the TV all day but don't remember anything after they watch it because they don't pay attention at all. This is a passive way of receiving information.
2) bad for interpersonal skills. Watching too much TV creates loneliness. People spend less time in face-to-face communication with their family and friends because of this.
