Which of the following three activities do you prefer to do with a group of people rather than alone?

Sample Answer:
Apparently, eating a meal with a group of people would be my choice. The most important reason for that is I am totally a foodie. Eating with others means I could enjoy more types of food comparing with eating alone. For example, I like to find the new restaurant with my friends and coworkers on weekends in the downtown to try some new and yummy stuff, like my favorite hot pot. That is really the best time during the whole week. On the other hand, doing homework and listening to music seem like more private things to me. That is to say, I prefer to concentrate on both of these two things all by myself. For homework, it is more efficiently and with independent mind. As to say music, I could put all myself into the atmosphere and have a complete release.(142 words)

Do you agree or disagree that it is important for young people to learn some domestic skills like cooking, sewing and taking care of children?
Sample Answer:
I totally agree with the idea that it is important for young people to learn some domestic skills. For one thing, it can help them to be more flexible and concentrated. Take me as an example, my mom taught me some simple sewing skills when I was like 12 years old so that my fingers become flexible and at the same time I began to calm down and concentrate on one thing for a rather long time. Later on, I became interested in some handcrafts making and painting, which really made my childhood happier and colorful. Moreover, doing something like taking care of baby and cooking could do great help for the parents, to release their pressure. Furthermore, those skills can make young people’s independent life easier in the future like they can cook for themselves homeland food when they study abroad.(142 words)

原因1：有很多学生课间休息时间很短，只有5分钟。以前来食堂吃饭总是in a hurry。如果开辟了这条new express line的话排队就不用等更久，不会很仓促。
原因2：虽然这条line食物种类很少，但是dining hall 其它line食物种类很丰富，所以没有太大关系。另外，一些学生要一边吃饭一边一起学习，以前只有晚饭的时候才能一起学习，但是食堂太吵了。如果能提前预定的话，她们就可以去一个更安静的地方学习。

The school is planning to open a new express line in dining hall so that students could easily buy the premade packaged food and the other lines in dining hall will also serve the students at the same time.
The woman in the listening totally holds a positive attitude towards the idea. She points out that most of the students have only five minutes break between classes which is really short. By opening this new express line, those students don’t have to hurry to the dining hall and take a long time to line up to get the food. Another thing is that, even the food choices are limited for the express line, students could have a variety choices form other opening lines. Also, some students prefer to have a group study in dinner time, but the dining hall is too noisy. Now they could find a quiet place to study together if they can order food in advance.(159 words)

Egocentric thinking in the children refers to the phenomenon that children always consider it as the same picture that from their mind as well as from others.
The professor uses an experiment to illustrate the concept.
In the experiment, a kid was told to stand in the front of the room and he was shown a red doll in the room. And then a researcher was told to stand back to the room facing the only wall of the room. When the kid was asked to answer the question that what the researcher could see, the answer is the red doll. Because he believed that the researcher definitely saw the same thing just like what he saw. This experiment shows us what the egocentric thinking is.(126 words)

缺点2：不知道campus mail啥时候开始工作，Tina可能要很晚拿到笔记，会耽误复习。

The man’s problem is that he has waited Tina for 15 minutes to give the note book back which he borrowed from Tina for a very important test tomorrow. He will be late for his work if he keeps waiting. Here are two solutions, he could choose either go to Tina’s dorm to make sure that she could begin to review with the notebook or just put the notebook in the campus mail and send Tina a message to remind her of it. I will choose the first solution because firstly, Tina was really kind to borrow him the notebook to cope with the man’s emergency. So he could probably not to disrupt Tina’s study schedule. Otherwise, Tina may get the notebook late because the working time of campus mail is not sure. Also, even though he will be a little bit late for his work, it is not a big deal comparing to returning notebook to Tina.(158 words)

The professor talks about two adaptions of animals in floodplain for their survival from different seasons. The first type of adaption is behavioral adaption, which means animals could adapt the environment by changing their behavior to survive. For example, a kind of animal would climb up on a tree when their habitat was flooded; they depend on the tree for food and nesting until the land dry. Another type is physical adaption, which means some animals could have different kinds of organs to adapt the changing environment. For instance, another kind of animal evolved two kinds of breathing organs with years; one is used for living on land while the other is used for living in water so that they can survive from various living environment.
