TASK1 - In your opinion, which of the following behavior is the most negative one displayed by children? being selfish, to speak impolitely, being loud.
Sample:
I think among the three behaviors, speaking impolitely is the worst one. First, sure, young children all have great trouble controlling their inappropriate desires or urges. But speaking impolitely is really disrupting because it influences others and if that behavior is not corrected in time, it shows bad parenting. And nothing makes a kid look bad than possible bad parenting, because there’s no end to it. On the other hand, being selfish is actually part of human nature, it’s not really a thing to blame. Scientifically speaking, little kids are naturally egocentric. And being loud is so common that sometimes adults even enjoy them, it makes things alive, doesn’t it? However, nobody likes to be constantly offended, even by a child.
TASK2 - Some people think in order to be successful, one has to make enemies. Do you agree or disagree, and explain why.
Sample:
I disagree, it’s not necessarily the case. First, there’re many definitions for success. To be successful is to lead a life that you intend to and enjoy, not a life necessarily with a lot of money. Say I feel that my mom is quite successful because she lives a happy life, but she obviously doesn’t have any enemies. And even for the people who are successful in career and with high social status, the effort they’ve spent along the way could be quite legitimate that wouldn’t have induced any serious conflict with others’ interests. Sure there must have been competition, but competition is common in any aspect of life which doesn’t always bring out hostile feelings. So basically I think the statement stands without solid ground.
TASK3
TASK 4
TASK 5
TASK 6

TASK1 - Which of the following part-jobs would you prefer to take? (1) library assistant (2) campus tour guide (3) lab assistant
Sample:
Personally I prefer to take a job as a library assistant. I’ve worked in my high school library before, the workload was not much and whenever I was needed, I felt happy to help my fellow students. Besides, I’m bit of a bookworm myself. Working in a library can really give me full access to the all the book collections. I enjoy the quietness libraries provide. On the contrary, as an art student, I wouldn’t believe myself competent working in a lab. And university campuses are often huge, I wouldn’t really be happy to do all the legwork working as a tour guide. So, library sounds about right.
TASK2 - Do you think sports playing may cause children to be more aggressive in future lives?
Sample:
I don’t really think so. Although some sports playing require aggressiveness in the course of the game, that doesn’t necessarily entail aggressive behaviors in a person’s daily life. From my own experience, my brother was enthusiastic about sports ever since he was a little boy. He played basketball, football, badminton, tennis and such. Even when he was in 5th grade, he was selected to play for the school basketball team. I often saw him with a bit strain of muscle or scratch on the face…etc., I could tell the games were fierce. But my brother has always been a sweet heart in our family. On the other hand, I’ve seen many others with short temper but without any keen interest in sports. So, I just don’t really see the link between sports playing and aggressive behaviors.
TASK3
