Task 1: Describe what your life would be like if you were banned from using your cellphone for a month. Give specific details and examples in your response.
S a m p l e
It’d be horrible if I’m not allowed to use my cellphone for an entire month.
First, people do everything nowadays on their cellphone. Take myself for example. All my class schedules are on my phone. Sometimes I take audio notes in a class that might be going too fast for me which helps enormously.
Also, when it comes to communication, cellphones are extremely important for us if not crucial. Especially in the case of an emergency. I can call or text my parents for help. For example, if it rains and I don’t have an umbrella with me, I can call my parents so they can pick me up after school.
Task 2: Do you agree or disagree with the statement that protecting the environment is as important as economical development.
S a m p l e
I agree with the statement that protecting the environment is as important as economical development. First, lots of the damages done to our environment are irreversible. It takes decades to reduce air and water pollution, and in some cases the damages can not be undone. Take oil spillages as an example, the impact they have on marine life is impossible to repair. Second, no matter how advanced our social structure and technology get, we can’t enjoy our life if the environment is ruined. What’s the point of having more money when we have to constantly worry about food safety and air and water pollution?
