As a Gundam fan, my childhood was enriched(丰富) and nurtured(哺育) by the intergalactic(星际的) fantasies, by the various stories euphonizing the glorious feats realized by teenagers. I dreamed of the zero-gravitational(零重力的) outer space decorated with shining stars, or sitting in a cozy(舒适的) spacecraft, witnessing(见证) the legends of the new era. Although I grow more realistic(现实的) afterwards, this space trip always haunted(萦绕) my mind, and I believe, in pious manner(虔诚的方式), that human beings are more powerful than our own imagination. There will definitely come a day when our homo sapiens(现代人) reach out to the outer space and settle ourselves down on alien(陌生的) stars.
Numerous evidence in the past have told me that the technology is more capable of making wonders than we can think of. When Copernicus(哥白尼) first initiated(开辟) his heliocentric theory(日心说) in 1530, he never thought about that one day we would use advanced telescopes like Hubble(哈勃) to explore galaxies millions of light years away. It takes only about five hundred years for the western society to revolutionize from a church-centered feudal society(封建社会) to a modern, technology-oriented one，so it is really hard to think what we will end up with in the future.
Besides, some developed countries like America are doing some real efforts to make this dream come true. From Apollo moon landing program to the Curiosity Rover’s(好奇者号的) landing on Mars, this marvelous(神奇) country continues to extend our imagination far beyond. I can still remember the thrill and excitement after hearing the news about the landing on Mars, and it was shortly after that when thousands of people volunteered to participate a program called “Mars One”, to colonize Mars as our first stop in the vast space.
Albert Einstein once noted, “Imagination is more important than Knowledge”, which states the whole point of this piece. When we are dreaming about venturing(冒险) into the outer space one day, we are planting the seed of possibility to grow and fruit in the future. And I guess, that was the beauty of it. (words: 340)
