Task1范文:
The maps illustrate the changes at West Park secondary school in three separate years, 1950, 1980 and 2010.
In 1950, the school’s main building was beside a main road and next to some houses. To the south of the main building, there was a playground, and farmland can be seen close to it.
In terms of the layout in 1980, the houses were replaced, giving way to a small car park and a science block. What is more, the farmland was transformed into a sports field. It means that the students had more space to do exercise.
In 2010 the car park was expanded, occupying what was once the sports field. The playground was separated into a smaller playground and a sports field.
Overall, it is clear that the main road and the location of the school / main building were the only constants over the sixty years as the school expanded to include a science block and an increasingly large car park - although at a cost to the size of the sports field and playground.

Task2范文:
Today, the rapid popularization of private vehicles has caused serious problems, such as traffic congestion in many places all over the world. I believe that the government can take effective measures to tackle the problem.
Admittedly, the soaring number of cars contributes to serious traffic jams. In my country, the phenomenon could hardly be seen in the past as the most populous form of transport was the bicycle at that time. Nowadays, it is common to see buses and cars waiting in long lines in big cities, such as New York and Beijing. The congestion leads to other problems, such as air pollution. It is reported that the hazy weather in China is closely related to fumes from car exhausts. Another problem is the energy crisis, as the major fuel used in cars is petrol and it is a non-renewable and finite resource.
In order to address the problem, the government should take feasible measures as soon as possible. First of all, public transport should be made more efficient and affordable to attract more passengers. It is generally accepted that the main reason why people do not want to leave their cars at home is that public transport is often crowded and uncomfortable. So the action of greater investment in public transport is likely to encourage more people to choose buses or subways.
In addition, the public’s awareness of environmental protection can be promoted through mass media, such as to inform people of the serious consequences of car emissions in public service announcements on television. The establishment of more environmentally-friendly transport such as the increased availability of cycle-lanes and car sharing would be a long-term solution, reducing car usage and traffic jams.
My view is that the serious congestion caused by overuse of cars can be eased if government take effective actions before it gets worse.
