Task 1 柱图
Thechart below shows the percentage of the whole world population in fourcountries from 1950-2002, with projections to 2050.
Sample Answer:
The bar chart compares the changes in the proportion of populationin India, China, the USAand Japan in 1950 and 2002, and it also indicates the projections for 2050.
In 1950, China accounted for one fourth of the world population. Although this figuredecreased slightly, it still ranked the first in 2002, compared to other threecountries. It is estimated that the population in China will continue to dropto 19 per cent in the middle of this century.
India ranked the second in terms of the population in the table, which made up 15 per cent in1950, but since then, there was a dramatic increase, climbing to approximately 19per cent. The percentage is expected to increase slightly to 21 per cent in2050 and will probably exceed that in China.
When it comes tothe population in the USA and Japan, both of which witnessed a decrease from1950 to 2002. It is predicted that in 2050, the percentage will remain the samein the USA, and in Japan, the percentage is likely to keep falling.
Overall, itseems that India will become the country with the largest population although thereis still a huge number of people in China.

Inrecent years, animal protection has become an issue of concern. People take different attitudes toward the increasing attention and expenditure on wild life conservation. Some people suggest that the spending should be redirected to helping other fields in our society. Iagree with the view that the investment in wildlife protection is not worthwhile.
Animals,as a key component of the whole food chain, have a profound impact on the sustainability of an ecosystem. As we known, every kind of animals plays animportant role in natural balance. For instance, the demise of any species willlead to the growth or decline of other species. In some extreme cases, somespecies may at the verge of extinction such as Dodo bird. If people did nottake actions to protect wildlife as soon as possible, we humans would beaffected in the end.
However, there are more issues that we need to focus in our society rather than protecting animals. In current social context, the primary task is still to improveliving standards since there are many people living under the poverty line. Only when people are in a good living condition, can they pay attention to othersocial problems. Besides, technology and education are another two aspects for governmentsto concern. These two industries accelerate the development of society, whichwill provide a better protection for wildlife in turn.
In conclusion, although the animal is a significant part of ecosystem, it isbetter for governments to invest more finance and resources in other socialproblems.
