There is no cause-effect relationship between the cultural diversity，the number of ethnicgroupsof which an independent nation or region with sovereignty consists，and the economicdevelopment within the nation or region in a certain period of time. For one thing, the culturaldiversityexerts no influence onsuch agricultural activities as farming, fishing, and domesticating.History has demonstrated that the crop yields and quality are independent upon the numberof ethnic groups. For another, the development of industry is also not closely associated withthe cultural diversity.
China is a typical example. Although this country has exactly 56 ethnic groups, theindustry lags behind Japan whose ethnic composition is rather homogeneous.
In terms ofeducation, the cultural diversity plays less important roles. Public schools mighthave excellent faculties and facilities whatever the cultural diversity conditions. TsinghuaUniversity in China serves as a good example. In this university, ninety percent of students areChinese in nationality. Another example is BLCU where 45% students are of internationalbackgrounds. This university still develops fast. Private schools also disconnected with culturaldiversity. MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, and Yale all are distinguished private universitiesthat welcome international students with distinct culture, religion, and even race.
To sum up, the cultural diversity has little to do with the country. That is to say, theeconomic development and education are independent upon this concern.
