  The diagrams below show the present college and its plan in 2015 for proposed development.

  The maps given compare the current layout of a college with its plan in 2015.

  At present, to the north of the rectangular campus there is a garden opposite to the entrance. Along the west wall lie a footpath and a car park and the south a bus stop. Inside, two classrooms in the south and a bigger one in the northeastern corner can be found, on the south of which the reception and the library are sited. Not mentioned are the seemingly open area for lunch in the northwestern and the toilets in the south.

  The college in 2015 is expected to demonstrate many differences including its extended length, along with which the car park will also expand its size. The garden and the footpath will vanish while a shop will be introduced inside. Noticeably, the entrance and the toilets will exchange their places, with the former directly leading to an oval reception. Likewise, the library of a shrunk size will be moved to the southwestern corner where a classroom lies now. Along the east wall four classrooms will be located.

  Despite the differences, that all the facilities are built immediately adjacent to each other and against the wall will remain consistent.(203 words)

  Living in big city can be bad for people's health. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

  (2013.12.21)Scientists advise people to lead a healthy lifestyle, but most people continue with unhealthy activities. Why do you think it is and what can be done with it?

  (2012.05.19)Food has become cheaper and food production has increased, thanks to enlarged manufacturing capacity, the use of fertilizer and better machinery. However, some believe this will do harm to the health of humans and local community as a whole.To what extent do you agree or disagree?

  1.整个自然环境遭到严重破坏,如空气污染,导致人们的健康遭到威胁;

  2.生活节奏快,在大城市生活的人们往往精神压力大,心理不健康;

  In many countries today, big cities seem to be stubbornly appealing to the mass population, along with which there arises the question as for whether living in a city will damage people’s health. For me, the answer is definitely yes.

  On one hand, the environment of most major cities, especially those in developing and underdeveloped countries, has been severely destroyed due to the overly quick industrialization. Take air pollution as an example, the speed of vehicles’ injecting tail gas and erect chimneys’ vomiting forth clouds of smoke is so fast and the volume so considerable that the atmosphere long before has failed to degrade the pollutants. Consequently, haze becomes a new natural hazard in many metropolises in the long run, with the PM2.5 density in some reaching several times the national limit.

  Apart from the threat posed to the physical health of city dwellers, the ever-accelerated living tempo, tuned with their competitive mind-set, is doomed to do damage to people’s mental health as well. It is not uncommon that blue-collar and white-collar workers as well spend many more hours in workplace than in their home, not to mention enough time squeezed for relaxation and recreation. An extreme and tragic case in point is the soaring number of suicides in big cities.

  Nevertheless, it has to be admitted that health facilities in big cities are increasingly available and in full set and not a few people are making efforts to keep fit. In the morning the young and old can be seen jogging around parks and after dinner women gather and dance on squares. Many companies and public institutes also organize activities to encourage their members to do exercise. But despite all the conveniences, few people can maintain their health as long as the air we breathe is still severely contaminated and the workload remains unbearable.

  To sum up, theoretically, at least for now and in the near future, it is of faint possibility for the basic living environment to restore its purity and the society to cease to pursue the unsustainable development; therefore, pathetically, the health conditions of most city dwellers will still deteriorate.
