The reading passage puts forward three solutions to prevent the extinction of lemurs. However the listening challenges what are stated by the reading with the following reasons.
First of all, the reading suggests that changing the fields which separates the forests into forest corridor would be an effective way. Not as the reading puts it, the lecture counters that forests beyond the living area of lemurs exert great danger to lemurs. Even if converting the cultivated fields into forests, lemurs would not set foot on it.
Additionally, strengthening management by prohibiting illegal hunting indicated by the reading, is another way in consideration. The listening, however, again casts doubt on this solution by pointing out that a large number of people are catching lemurs for pets. More seriously, besides keeping them for pets, lemurs are also hunted for food. In other words, a wide range of hunting by various methods is utilized, hence leading the process of controlling the hunting and preventing their extinction to be quite difficult and ineffective.
When it comes to the last solution, capturing lemurs for artificial raising and reservation asserted by the reading material, the listening argues that this method is unreasonable for the lemurs can be classified into a wide range of types and different types of lemurs have different life habits.
