Since the government spares no efforts to promote “quality education” that zeros in on students' all-around development, students nowadays no longer remain academic-centered or exam-oriented. This transformation divides onlookers into two basic camps with opposite views: some people are in favor of the previous system while others support the recent change. Personally, I am a big fan of “quality education,” and I am totally in agreement with students' participation in extra-curricular activities. My reasons are as follows.
开头思路：“背景引入+争议引出话题+个人观点”，可谓“开头神器”。里面的一个词zeros in on，中文意思是“全神贯注于某问题或主题”， 这个词绝对让那些什么pay attention to，focus on顿时“六宫粉黛无颜色”了;
第一个观点：参加各种社团和活动的学生可以培养那些学术以外的能力，比如说领导力，交流能力或执行力，而这些能力对未来职业发展至关重要;
Firstly, students taking part in organizations or club activities can develop non-academic capabilities such as leadership, communication or execution, which are crucial for the future. It is because no matter what kind of student organisation or club it is, the goal is always to achieve something with the cooperation of all members. During the process, there must be leaders who organize activities, give orders, or assign workload and members who should communicate with each other timely to ensure that everything goes smoothly. I remember that I used to be the leader of an English speaking society in college, and I successfully organized several large-scale speaking contests. The capability acquired through those activities laid a foundation for my future work.
托福写作最精髓的要求，就是details, 把短语整理成固定的细节展开，以后提到某个任务或者能力的培养的时候，就可以具体地说，“组织活动，发布指令，分配任务，相互交流从而确保万无一”;

In addition, student organizations and clubs are the places where we can make great friends, which spices up the tedious campus life. A certain type of student organization or club is like a group or circle that appeals to people with similar hobbies or interests, and that is the reason why one can find his or her congenial friends in the club more often than not. For example, people who love taking photos will join the photography club, and movie-goers are always taking part in movie salons and exchanging mutual ideas and thoughts on the same movie. Undoubtedly, being together with people having the shared aspirations and enthusiasm is the source of happiness.

第三，让步观点：尽管学习对于每个学生来说至关重要，但是学习重要也不意味着社团活动可以忽略;
Admittedly, academic study is of vital importance to every student, for it provides the basic and systematic knowledge to which we cannot be blind. However, to emphasize the importance of academic study does not mean that student organization and club activities are dispensable. One who devotes himself to academic study without paying any attention to extra-curricular activities stands a fair chance to become a nerd with high IQ but low EQ, which is not an ideal case.
“To do sth does not mean that sth is dispensable”这个句型非常好的用来表达“在肯定某事物的同时，不能忽略其他得方面”;
最后，重申立场，升华主题
In a nutshell, I regard student organization and club activity as important as academic study. As an old saying goes, “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” if you do not want to be dull, then go to join an organization or a club immediately, because you will harvest unexpected treasures there.
