When it comes to whether the young people nowadays are more likely to help others than the older generation or not, it has still not yet been decided. Someone miss the "good old days" while others believe that what the post 80s or 90s have done are really beyond our expectation. Clearly, born in 1980s, I think young people nowadays are more inclined to help people than people in the past.

Young people nowadays have more capacity to help others than those living in the past decades. Since the youth in the current society have more ways to learn new resources, which means, they could get master of some special skills or technologies which the older people could not handle with. For example, with the help of GPS, when a stranger get lost, they can use their phone to search the location for them and help find the way home. However, in the past people can not even sometimes solve the problem. Moreover, by means of participating in various kinds of social activities, they will easily get access into people from diverse background, more importantly, some of which might give a hand in their future career. While the seniors find it difficult to get support from others as a consequence of lack of contacts.
Modern people have far more parental care and better schooling than the generation in the 50s or 60s. Frankly speaking, children and youth have more chances to communicate with their parents due to the one-child policy in 80s in China. Since if a couple has only one child, both of them will spend more time and energy on educating and specifically, let them know the importance of helping others. On the contrary, the past generation almost have a few siblings which may give rise to the result that both of their parents should earn money and thus, have few time staying with them. Also, in order to get the kids realized the significance of offering help, trained and professional tutors in school will always show them exemplifications of role models, such as Chen Guangbiao, a billionaire, had decided to donate 98% of his possessions to the charity fund in order to help the poor in underdeveloped regions.
Thanks to the media propaganda, the young adults are more likely to be affected by the power of inspiration. Zhang Lili, who had just rewarded as the most beautiful teacher in China, is a case in point. She helped her students run out of a car accident at the cost of her legs. Since hardly when we know what she had done to the public, could we realize that we should also help those who are desperate in need. Besides, by virtue of the popularization of mails, newspapers as well as magazines, it is easier for the young adults to be inspired. However, in the past, it is more time-consuming for people to know what has happened outside, since the only way to keep in touch with the world is radio, let alone to get heartened or encouraged.
