175. Some students like classes where teachers lecture (do all of the talking) in class. Other students prefer classes where the students do some of the talking. Which type of class do you prefer? Give specific reasons and details to support your choice.
Nowadays, how to teach and learn efficiently is violently debated. When faced with whether students should take part in the talking which was always monopolized by the teacher, some people claim that due to the super knowledge of teachers, teachers should do all the talking, while others maintain that in order to deepen and broaden the student’s knowledge as possible, teachers and their students should interact with each other actively.
It is true that teachers has grasped much knowledge than the students, and they know, to some extent, how to teach and what to be taught to students. But, without the feedback from the students, the teaching is like a boat sailing in the dark sea and ultimately the boat will lose its way.
The fact of first-rate importance is the predominant role that the teaching, in characterinvolved a process of teaching and learning, its final aim is to transfer knowledge to the students’ brains. How can one teacher accomplish this task efficiently? Wherever the answer lies, there is no doubt that if the students refuse to accept the so-called knowledge, the task is futile. Teachers, therefore, must catalyzing the students to learn, and let them talk on class to understand what they concern and what way they like to be taught.
There is another fact that deserves some words here. If permitted to talk out what they concern, the students would feel at home . and this optimal phenomenon will advance the students further. For example, when I was a college student, I loved the teachers who gave us more opportunities to talking on class, to express what I grasped and what I had doubt in. By this way, I maximized my knowledge in that field.
In brief, from what I have discussed above, it is not difficult to draw a conclusion that teachers should give students chances of talking on class, for through the talking the teachers would not only finish their work successfully but the students acquire learning excellently.
