I agree with the old saying, “It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.” I don’t need to win. I have fun playing many games regardless of my personal performance because it gives me time to be with friends, learn new things, and even work as a team.

Tennis is a game that I truly enjoy. It’s a great opportunity to socialize. Of course, you can’t carry on a conversation while you’re playing, but my tennis partner and I talk a lot before and after our matches. Since we typically have to reserve a court, we talk beforehand to one another to find a convenient time to meet. Then we have to make sure that the court is available at our desired time. This often takes many phone calls and, of course, we talk about many other things during the course of the conversations. Once we get to the court, we often have to wait. That gives us another opportunity to chat. After the game, we usually go out for a soda or a meal and talk some more, and rarely do we even talk about how well or how poorly we played. Tennis is just an excuse for us to get together.

1、I agree with the old saying, “It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.”不敢说引用俗语或者是名人名言在增加趣味性或者丰富性上能有什么贡献，但是这会让你的文章看起来高端并且具有说服力，另外引出引语的方式除了文中的方式外，还有经常看到的it says/said that。
2、After the game, we usually go out for a soda or a meal and talk some more, and rarely do we even talk about how well or how poorly we played. 后半句里面有一个否定词前置后句倒装的结构，后句中没有情态动词自动添加助动词，这里rarely是表示极少的否定副词，这种否定前置导致的倒装句可以免去主语重复出现的现象，让文章读起来更简洁。
3、All in all, I just enjoy having a good time and don’t consider my relative “winning” or “losing” status amongst my everyday associates. 总结语all in all，表示总而言之。而表示在…之中，这里用的是amongst，用法同among，表示三个及以上的之中，between表示两者之中。
