Music is marvelous and beautiful. It can be divided into many different categories, such as light music, jazz music, pop music, folk music, etc. It has the unbelievable power to influence people’s lives. People listen to music for different reasons and at different times. Music is very important for mankind. I am a typical music fan. I can definitely say that people cannot live without music.
Firstly, music can change people’s feelings, especially when we are angry, bad-tempered or upset. Light music or some happy songs can calm people down. When we are in an uncontrollable fury, we can become dangerous. At that very moment, some suitable music can wake us up. Music is the lubricant of relationships between people. When we are sad, we often choose to listen to music or go to KTV with a group of friends. It shows that music can make people forget annoyances.
Secondly, music can promote friendship love between people. There is a classic scene in a love movie where a college boy stands outside the dorm of the girl he loves very much playing guitar and singing love songs all night in order to win the girl’s heart. Usually the boy succeeds because of his sincerity. We can send our best wishes through music when our parents or friends are having birthdays.
Last but not least, different kinds of music have different functions. There are special songs in a wedding ceremony. Dirge is used at funerals. People express various emotions through different types of music. If one cannot fall asleep at night, he’d better listen to light music. The Golden Collection of Richard Clayderman is a good choice. Music can surely shape one’s mentality. Given all these reasons above, we can see that music is very important in our lives.
