Some people like to do only what they already do well. Other people prefer to try new things and take risks. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.
I am not a risk taker; I like to stick to what I do best. I have learned that it is better to focus my energy on one thing and to do it well. Trying new things is for when I have already mastered my first task.
When I was young, I liked to experiment with many different things. First I wanted to be an astronaut so I studied space. That was very difficult so I decided to be a historian. That suited me perfectly since I had the knowledge and enjoyed reading history books in the library. I learned to focus my attention on one subject and pursue it to mastery.
I am a proficient reader and the subject of history is very interesting. I decided not to read books on any other subject other than history books. I even focused my attention on Russian history. I only read history books on Russian history so that I do one thing and do it well.
I don’t want to try anything new. Even within the field of history I don’t understand American history or English history. The names are confusing and the stories are uninteresting for some reason. I don’t want to learn about anything else other than Russian history.
I may seem a bit stubborn, but through experience I know what makes me happy. I don’t like to take risks with new things. I enjoy my mastery of a specific field, and I am interest only in pursuing this expertise.

一、 语言表达
本文虽然语言的辞藻上没有那么华丽，句式也比较简单，但是在对应的内在结构上特别工整，在逻辑以及内容上非常严谨和饱满。
1. Trying new things is for when I have already mastered my first task.
这一句话说明了一个人生哲理，即人们在尝试新鲜事物虽然是好的，但是不能事事都蜻蜓点水，应该在把首要事情做好之后再去尝试其它新鲜东西，不然顾此失彼，什么都做不好，本句提到my first task，我们把目光放到第二段最后一句I learned to focus my attention on one subject and pursue it to mastery. 句子之间是同义关系，并且出现了同义对应on one subject与上句的my first task.之后第三段最后一句出现了类似的现象，又是同义替换I only read history books on Russian history so that I do one thing and do it well.只不过这里的同义替换要更加具体了，关键词one thing & Russian history。第四段的最后一句也是惊人的相似I don’t want to learn about anything else other than Russian history.以及结尾段I enjoy my mastery of a specific field, and I am interest only in pursuing this expertise.其中关键词a specific field & only & this.这些是作者别有用心地这么设计还是源于只有一个中心论点的缘故呢，从这些巧妙的对应我们可以看出，原因是每段结构都是总分总，开头结尾都差不多，在加上中心论点只有一个，非常focus，导致了这种别样的对应关系。
二、 逻辑结构
本文一共分为五个段落，正文是正正正的写作结构，第一段作者提出自己的观点，说明自己不喜欢冒险，也不喜欢新鲜事物。第二段进入正文段落，作者由自己的经历入手，写了自己学习历史的过程，最后专注于俄国历史研究，第三段和第四段都是在讲这个经历，夹叙夹议，内容非常饱满。最后一段总结了全文。
