People benefit more from traveling in their own country than from traveling to foreign countries.
1. Travelling can expand one’s outlook, amplify one’s experience and make many new friends. It could be a superb lesson in one’s life. If I have/possess adequate time and money to plan my tour, I prefer foreign country tour.
Foreign life can serve various life experience and lifestyles which are hardly acquired in domestic life. In the identical social and environmental circumstance, people generally have relatively familiar and similar views and experience. The distinction is, if any, slight. If people do not go abroad, they can rarely obtain the refreshing ideas. For example, some people who come from highly industrialized countries with high welfare, tend to take the free healthcare and education for granted, but if they have a foreign tour in impoverished countries or regions where the food is almost far from enough, not to mention schooling, they can get a precious lesson: Cherish one’s own life and help someone who need help.
Oversea travels can offer/provide/afford broader choices. As far as I know, some countries are as small as one common city of the United States. In such countries, if people refuse oversea journey, they have to repeat his footprints time and time again. In the other hand, some countries locate in some lonely islands without forest and all the fish comes from the sea, if these residents want to ride a horse in the plain or taste freshwater fish, they have to travel abroad.
Besides, the exotic landscape and custom are more curious and attractive than familiar ones. Generally speaking, people are curious, they prefer acquire purely refreshing experience, rather than relatively familiar or even well-known one. The foreign lifestyle, food and scenery are always far more different form one’s domestic experience, which is the key factor to satisfy people’s curiosity deeply.
In conclusion, foreign tour can afford more various life experiences, more options, and satisfies people’s curiosity highly. These advantages appeal to us. Needless to say, these are the contributing factors that more and more people would like to travel abroad.
2. While all travel can broaden the mind and provide relaxation, international travel can provide some experiences that domestic travel cannot and vice versa. At the end of the day, the choice is simply down to one of personal preference, although, speaking for myself, I would prefer international travel.
Knowing your own country is important to fully understand your own culture and your own identity. This is one reason why we study local history at school: domestic travel brings to life some of the places studied in history and geography lessons. For example, many Chinese wish to visit the Forbidden City in Beijing to experience a little of the luxury afforded to the Emperors as well as the sense of pride knowing that their country was a great civilization for thousands of years. The history of your ancestors and the variation of landscapes and lifestyles can each help provide a sense of who you are and your fellow countrymen’s position in the world.
Alternatively, an overseas voyage offers a sense of adventure, a step into the unknown and can place us outside of our comfort zone. Some may be put off by the language barrier, culture shock, strange food and a strange environment, while others relish the thought, curious to broaden their horizons. These differences bring experiences that we can never experience at home such as exotic landscapes like the Great Barrier Reef which is unique in the world. Again, whilst we can associate foreign trips with knowing ourselves as part of the broader human race, this kind of travel may prove to be more exciting, daunting and frustrating.
In conclusion, travel abroad lets us understand, and sample the lives of vastly different cultures, whereas discovering our own nation is more an exercise in self-discovery. Whether we opt for one kind of activity over the other is down to individual preference, yet both have their different benefits. For me, though the challenges of international travel are favored, the more time I spend out of my country, the more I yearn to visit some of the famous places of my motherland.
