  People, consciously or unconsciously, always pay much attention on education, while university education is one of the most important part of which, and this is where controversial problem arises. Although numerous kinds of methods are raised to improve the education quality of university, many people deem that increasing the salaries for professor is the best way, while others hold the opposite view that high salary is not the key point to attract outstanding professors. Among the two opinions, I agree with the former one more. An analysis may help us get a deeper perspective on the issue.

  First and foremost, it is obvious that a higher salary can strongly relieve the economic burden on professors, especially for those young ones, thus they can concentrate more on enhancing their teaching skills. Nowadays, to survive in the high pressure city, more professors choose to take an extra job in other colleges or companies. Higher real estate price, more and more expensive clothes, more frequent get-together between friends, all these become impetus for young teachers to earn extra money out of salary itself. So why can't universities adjust the income for professors directly? Thus they can pay more attention on instructing and academic researching.

  Moreover, if the salary in university is more attractive, more and more young scientists may choose to work in universities rather than in an enterprise. It is well-known that the experienced professor is the cornerstone for an excellent university that wants to maintain a high level of education. Take my major as an example, the graduating students can earn an annual salary at about 30,000 bucks in big company, which are significantly higher than those classmates who stay in school. Actually, the cleverest and potential graduates always seek for a work in international companies, instead of extending a university education career. By offering a competitive salary, the situation will be totally different. Imaginable, more and more talented scholars will be eager to work on university campus, and then the education level of the university would alter immediately.

  There are other things meriting attention. Some people hold the opinion that even the salaries for professors can be doubled, the changes cannot happen at once. Admittedly, It's unbelievable that professors change at one night. Such income adjustment is nothing but long-period stimulation. After years' running, the significance of such policy can appear slightly. After all, education is not a thing can be done at one night.

  All in all, improving salaries for professors is a effective way to increasing the education quality of universities, because it can reduce teachers’ financial burden, absorb intelligent talents, and to be a long-period investment. So, years later, after such program, the quality of education will reach a new stage.
