Schools should ask students to evaluate their teachers. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Introduction:
Universities in the United States have long had evaluations of teaching quality to help students make decisions as to which classes to take. It is no longer a question of whether or not schools should ask students to comment on their teachers’ work, but simply how and to what extent. As far as teaching quality is concerned, I fully support that the decision to require students to assess their teachers’ performance.
Universities usually require students to give a comprehensive evaluation based on different aspects such as sense of humor, clarity, carefulness, and patience. Therefore, teachers could keep improving their teaching quality given the feedback. Although some potential drawbacks might be inherent in such an approach, it is fair enough for students to assess their teachers’ teaching performance according to the following reasons and examples.
