A victory for coeducation
"Well, I hate to say it, but that was acolossalfailure!"Said Mr. Wells after he hadcollectedall of the surveyshe had passed out. ~I thought there wouldbecoherentarguments againstcoeducation, as wellas a clear majority to keep things the way they arealready. But all of the students andcolleaguesin ourverycognitiveuniversity setting seem to think thatwe should change our schoolcodeto allowacoeduniversity. Some even wantcoeddormitories. That won' t happen over my dead body! Do youthink there is any way that we cancoercethem otherwise?"
"Well, let's firstcollatethe surveys to see what the exact numbers are." Said Mr. MacKenzie inresponse. "Okay, I'vecollapsedthe results into three categories. It's nocoincidence; themajority favors thiscoarsechange in policy just as you said. Well Mr. Wells, I guess that therewas really no need for us tocollaborateon this issue. We havefailed. Wecoinedseveral goodslogans. Severalcollocationswere brilliant. And thecoherenceof our arguments was sound. Butwe have justcollidedwith reality! They want a coed university!"
"Okay. admit defeat." Sighed Mr. Wells. "Let's take thiscollectionof surveys to the library. Oh,watch out! We just avoided a majorcollisionwith that biker. Ah well, maybe students willremember some of ourcoinageslater in life."
"Yes, but they' 11 probably remember and laugh. We' re in for a lot of change, Mr. Wells, a lotof change! "
