  Butch had beenblunderingwith theblueprintsof thefactory looking for an exit when an explosion inthebleachingroomblastedhim out of the main hall,through a window and into a patch ofroseblossoms. As he lay therebleedingonly slightlyhe realized that he had been blessed by the blast; intheblinkof an eye he had been thrown from thescene of the crime that he had committed. He wasalso unburned by the hotbiodegradable bleachthathad covered his body. Bless you St. Peter, hethought.

  He quickly moved toblendinto the vegetation even more. Policemen had arrived and thevegetationblockedthem from seeing Butch. Thank God the roses were inbloom. Withoutthebloomingflowers he would surely have been seen. They didn' t even hesitate as they lookedin his direction with blank expressions.

  Butch stared, still amazed at his luck. He was no longerbitterat his employers. There would beno way they couldblamehim for the explosion, it wasn't his fault. And the fire it had startedwas sure to destroy all evidence of his stealing valuable stock from the accountants' office. Ithad not been abilateraldecision with his wife to steal those documents, but Butch realized thatwhat was once ableakfuture was now, because of abizarreaccident, like a bill of freedom forButch He would be able to walk away rich, innocent of any suspicion and no longer bound towork with an employer that had almost ruined his life and marriage.

  Maybe he wouldn't even tell his wife that he had succeeded....
