TASK1
1. What makes your country different from other countries?
I will go with one Chinese symbolic food: dumplings. It is so amazing that you can learn a lot about the traditional Chinese culture through eating dumplings. What’s more, it is because of its flavor. It’s really delicious. Some dumplings are made of pork and beef, and others are made of sea food. You can almost taste all kinds of delicious food through eating dumplings. When we are talking about dumplings, it is impossible not to mention that it is also the symbol of reunion in China. So whenever I eat dumplings, I think of my family.
2. College students should be allowed to keep pets in their dormitories. What do you think? Please include specific reasons and details in your explanation.
I think no pets should be allowed in campus dorms. Cuz dorm is supposed to be a quiet place, where students can get some rest from whole day's study, and pets are generally very messy and noisy. Some people are allergic to them. Additionally, going to college costs a lot and one should prioritize their role as a student and maintain a high GPA. Everything else comes after that. I would suggest students should leave the animals home, and I think it is kind of fair to pets, cuz college are busy, one does not have enough time to be with the pets.
3. People face many difficulties in life. Which one of the following time periods is the most difficult to you? Childhood, teenage hood or adulthood? Give Specific details and examples to explain your answer.
I think being a teenager is the hardest for the following reasons. First, it’s hard being a high school student. What we learn in high school is hard! We are studying so many different subjects all at the same time. There are endless assignments and tests to worry about. If I don’t get them right, I can’t face my teachers and parents. Second, there’s too much peer pressure being a teenager. People compare with each other about the clothes we wear, the shoes we put on and the grades we get. Teenagers have to try so hard to fit in to avoid being alienated at school.
