The passage mainly discusses the the reasons why sea star population decline. However, the lecturer casts doubt on the writer’s view from the 3 reasons below.
Firstly, in the reading passage, parasites living on sea stars quickly spread. On the contrary, the professor says that sea stars are sick whole year even when it is not the reproduction season, in which parasites grow.
Secondly, the professor opposes reading’s idea that there are bacteria on shellfish, which is the main food of sea stars. He states that sea stars can tolerate this kind of bacteria.
Finally, the professor disapproves the reading’s idea that the sea temperature rises, leading to the weakness of sea stars’ immunity power. The professor points out that the sea temperature of the area where sea stars die is calm all the time.

写作思路：
此题是一道新题，题干也比较长，题材也比较实际。大家审题看清楚。意思是“当父母没有时间照顾他们的小孩的时候，把小孩送到育儿中心好，还是给一个个体保姆好”。但总的来说考的内容并不是很难，需要论证照顾孩子的方式哪种更好并进行论据说明支持。如果选择“中心”可以考虑设备和员工的专业度、孩子社交能力的培养及费用更加合理性。如果选择“个体保姆”可以说更适合个性化的需求(如时间安排等)、亲戚朋友介绍的个体保姆口碑好更值得信赖、孩子得到的照顾和关心更全面。或也可以考虑让步的写法。
写作指导：
Send children to child-care center：
首先，center更能帮家庭省钱(save a considerable amount of capital as rainy money)。相较于个体caregiver，center是更加经济实惠的选择(make good economic sense)，因为一般来说，center收取的费用还是跟当地的经济水平相符合(be consistent with)的。然而，一个自由职业(freelance)的caregiver收取的费用(quoting price)可高可低，质量也良莠不齐。
其次，如果把孩子送到center，孩子能够得到更好的认知能力(cognitive skills)的发展和社交能力的培养(the cultivation of social ability)。一个孩子的认知能力的发展取决于(depend on)语言的使用和与外界的接触(interaction with external world)。把小孩送到care center的话，他可以跟其他的小孩一起玩耍和交流，不会感到孤独(feel solitary)，而且也可以促进孩子之间的交流(promote communication)，建立友谊。另外，在与其他孩子一起互相学习的过程中也可以取长补短，一起竞争会学的更好。然而一个individual caregiver没法提供这些环境。
诚然，一个individual caregiver 能够提供更灵活的时间安排(a more flexible schedule)，并且也能为孩子提供更全面的更全身心的(all-around and whole-hearted)照顾。但是，总的来说(overall)，为了让孩子更好地成长，还是送到center好处更多。
