T3 学校新规定要文学系的学生写论文理由一：学生会做更多的研究。理由二：学生将有机会与顾问，那么他们的学术能力得到提高。 男学生同意学校的决定，因为：1。虽然学生已经写了很多论文，但论文主要是短的。2。这项决定是让学生在学习中保持联系，因为学生没有足够的机会与顾问联系。然后，男孩觉得自己很自信，他真的能够写出好的论文，通过这种方式。literature student write long thesis 理由一: students will do more research. 理由二: student will have the opportunity t o communicate with advisors, then their academic ability will be improved.
男学生同意学校的决定，因为： 1. though students have written lots of thesis, the thesis are mainly short ones. 2. the decision really offers students to keep in touch and communicate deeply with their advisor about their study, as students don't have enough opportunity to contact with advisors. then, the boy feel so confident that he can really write good thesis, through this way.
T4 动物利他主义Animal altruism，动物有时会做altruistic behaviors，尽管这样做可能危及自己的生命。教授举例：加利福尼亚有一种松鼠squirrel，他们成群生活，生活在山上，他们的天敌 predator是山狮mountain lion。群中有一只母松鼠有强烈的保护他们成员的冲动，在敌人来的时候他们会尖叫以报警give alarm to other squirrels。然后让其他松鼠可以跑掉escape。但是她们自己也暴露了自己的位置location、引起了mountain lion的注意力，陷入危险境地will be attacked，他们的危险risks比其他松树多一倍double。
T5 问题：等待朋友谁可能不会出现，并错过了他的飞行。
Problem: waiting for friend who might not turn up and the guy miss his flight.
Solutions: 1. take a bus, but no direct bus to the airport. Need to change bus, plus heavy suitcase, 2. Take a cab but expensive. Even enough to pay for taxi but plan to use the money to buy things during spring break.
T6 设置操作目标的2个优点 2 advantages of setting operational goals
老板制定operational goals有两个好处，第一，motivate employees，比如一个鞋店，老板跟服务员说每个月至少要卖50双鞋，服务员就会更努力地推销鞋，销售业绩就更好。第二，提供measurement of performance，再拿鞋店的例子来说，老板设置了每个月卖50双的目标，就可以拿员工有没有达到这个标准来评价员工的表现，以此决定要不要给奖金bonus，或者加工资raise。

W1 独角鲸头上独角的作用。

阅读：提出三种理论
(1)独角应该是用来Pierce through thick ice sheet to breathe的，因为独角鲸待的地方在冰层下面不好呼吸，还说有eyewitness see曾经有独角鲸钻破冰层。
(2)独角是male narwhals用来Compete for territory的
(3)此角与鲸的神经系统相连，可以起到一佃Sensor的作用，感知ocean properties(比如temperature、咸度、气压etc)，而且是important in narwhals' survival
听力：教授反驳。
(1)她说其赏独角是软的，可以Bend的，而且送是从many directions，所以说独角根本就穿不透厚厚的冰居，只能弄碎很薄的冰面。目击者看到的情况很有可能只是独角鲸把its head放在一佃ice sheet have already begun to break的地方。
(2)她说其实所谓的两条公独角鲸为领地而战只是远观后得的结论，如果是从Close的地方看就会发现其实独角鲸在gently rub each other，还是它们的一种交流方式。
(3)如说Female narwhals don't have tusks，那如果这玩意在narwhals' survival里真的很important，为啥一般的独角鲸都live longer than male。
