STUDENTS
Term 2 has started strongly with students engaged in their assessment and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. A large number of students participated in the community ANZAC Day parade and service, with our Band and Choir being a focal point.
The Year 10 students hosted our ANZAC parade at school and did a great job. I would like to thank Mr Don Davey, representing the Kingaroy Memerambi RSL, for his time to deliver an address to the school community.
Year 9 students are in the process of final preparation for NAPLAN, starting on Tuesday 15 May. Year 12 students have commenced QCS training.
YEAR 11 AND 12 CATCH UP
The school is developing a process whereby students in Years 11 and 12, who have not submitted assessment or fall behind in their VET competencies, will be directed to use the Flexi time to “catch up”. It is imperative that all Year 11 and 12 students submit assessment by the due date and stay on track to complete their VET qualifications by the end of Year 12. More information out soon.
STAGE 1 PERFORMING ARTS COMPLEX
The Performing Arts Complex is progressing extremely well. The slab has been laid and the frame of the building is taking shape. This is a very exciting time for the school and I look forward to giving you up-dates over the coming months.
CROSS COUNTRY
Yesterday the students participated in the annual Interhouse Cross Country and it was great to see almost all students participating. Well done.
