Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School has a long tradition as a centre of excellence in the Creative and Performing Arts. Our students are afforded a wide range of opportunities to excel in their chosen fields with extensive range of subjects and extra curricular programs, and a whole school appraoch to fostering our students' talents.
" School funds directly influence the quality and quantity of the resources we are able to make available to students for their learning. Reduced school fees mean less textbooks and technology resources available to students, whilst reduced subject fees means less consumables available for students to paint, cook, construct and experiment. Fee structures are set on the notion that all students pay their contributions and fees; it would be a shame to have to limit access and subject choice because some people do not pay their fees."
Our school has a proud tradition of catering to the needs of students in the Creative and Performing Arts. We not only cater for students in the Creative and Performing Arts but also offer an extensive Gifted and Talented Academic Program which includes enrichment, extension and acceleration. Academically NCAPAHS has achieved excellent results at the HSC, achieving Band 6s in all courses. The top ATAR in recent years was 99.5. The school is well equipped to foster intellectual inquiry and creativity.
Our school is a happy, vibrant place of learning. Our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Community, Commitment and Tolerance underpin all our practices and policies. Our students participate in a huge range of extra curricular activities including Rock Eisteddfod, debating, public speaking, drama, dance, music, visual arts, photography, sport, charity and community work. To develop a deeper cultural understanding of the world, annual exchanges to Kawaguchi, Japan are available to all students.
Social Justice is an important issue for the students of Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School. The Multicultural Committee and prefects are a leadership group of students who manage the promotion of social justice and equity, including the sponsoring of 2 students in Ethiopia and Afghanistan, sponsoring a school in Oriakhail, Afghanistan and participating in the 40-Hour Famine and Red Shield Appeals.
We have strong ties with our community and work with them to ensure quality learning outcomes for all students.
